AFSPC-FC (FL) - Public Affairs Officer / Webmaster


Maj. Arthur E. Woodgate is the Director of Public Affairs, Southwest Region.

He is also the Information Technology Officer, Webmaster, and Newsletter Editor of Group III, Texas Wing, SWR. Assigned to SWR in 2008, he had been the Group III, TXWG Public Affars Officer for two years, after having worked at the squadron level and as Deputy PAO, Texas Wing. He is also the PAO and webmaster of the Legislative Squadron, Texas Wing. He was a Balsem Award winner at the 2007 PAO Academy in Atlanta, GA, where he was invited to chair a round table and asked to speak on his work during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He has been published extensively, including Volunteer and CAP National News Online.

For the 2008 PAO Academy in Kissimmee, FL, he was asked to chair a round table on "Working with Cadet PAOs."

Maj. Woodgate retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer Two branched Military Intelligence, specializing in human intelligence. His distinguished Army career took him from direct support at the tactical level up the chain of command to theater support at the strategic level. His highest awards are the Army Meritorious Service Medal (two awards) and the Joint Service Commendation Medal (a Department of Defense award).

He is the president of W7Oaks, Inc., a small business dedicated to web development, business consulting, and ISO 2000 registration.

Maj. Woodgate is married, with one child (married, living in California), and makes his home with his wife Audrey in Dripping Springs, Texas, west of Austin.
